Summer wrap-up readathon; my goals........

This starts today (4th August) until 12th August (end 6pm Pacific time) I am not sure whether to just go on my uk time which is ahead of this or just to convert time so that i am starting and stopping at the exact same time.  Infact, i am going to stick to UK time and i will just work out the challenge times :)

So thanks to them :)

This readathon looks fab! loads of ppl have signed up to participate, there is a twitter hashtag #swur so get to meet new bloggers, and also there is LOADS of challenges etc planned. The schedule is here on the host's post.

Anyone wanting to sign up, you still can and here is the post.

MY GOALS.

Recently i pretty much failed at a readathon, for various reasons.  I am determined to be successful with this 1.  Therefore, I am focusing on my reading, i will do some challenges but not all and i may not update daily on my blog but there will be an update during the week.  I will be on twitter when i can but i am adamant it will not become a distraction again lol.

Books to read-
I did a August TBR list here and i am also participarting in Review Copy clean-up this month.
So from that, i hope to read 3.5 books this week. (I don't get that much time to read with a young family and living with a medical condition which leaves me in pain, sleeping or at hosp appts- sorry needed to heads up so ppl didn't think i was lame :()

*Finish- Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
*The Next Best Thing:A Novel. by Jennifer Weiner.
*January First: A Child's Descent into Madness and Her Father's Struggle to Save Her by Michael Schofield.

These are all books that will be published in August, and are the nearest to publication on my reading list.

Happy reading and enjoy!!!!

  1. Ah sweets, nobody thinks you're lame! We've been through loads of read-a-thons side by side now, and as always my advice is the same - just read when you fancy it, when you can, and enjoy the ride! :)

I must say I am INTRIGUED by all the mentions of 'Pushing the Limits' I'm seeing around the blogosphere right now. And I didn't even know Norah Vincent wrote novels! I have her two non-fiction 'life experiment'-type books, which now I think about it, I should probably actually READ at some point... ;)

Good luck anyway, and I hope you manage to squeeze in a little luxurious reading time in between all the other things life throws your way this week! xx

    2. It is upsetting and quite a distressing read but wow the admiration I have for the father. It is like a diary format with a date every few mths or something and covers a large span of time-years. Def have a read but maybe from library or when cheaper xx

  7. OOH I'm participating in the Review Copy Clean Up as well. i'm the same way Twitter is often a horrible distraction for me - trying to make sure it doesn't end up this way this time! I have Thy Neighbor to read for this month as well, hopefully I can get to it! I'm so behind lately, I really need help to catch up! :) GOOD LUCK! :)

    1. Hi :) another reader of Thy neighbour, have u started to read it yet? I am really unsure to read it in cases don't like it lol. I should have read it in July but put it off, I look forward to see what u think of it :) x how av u gone on with avoiding twitter? I am doing well do far,lol but thing is now I feel left out and alone because I am not part of it, but it means I have done lots more reading than I would have and I am replying to comments and putting blogposts up. I am slightly behind but I am always playing catch up.hope u r enjoying the readathon, good luck with the rest of it :) xxx

  8. I loved Pushing the Limits! Hope you do too. This is my first read-a-thon challenge I'm taking part in so I set my goal pretty low as I have review copies to get through too. I can totally see the computer and twitter being a distraction, so I can see why you want to limit that. Good luck to you, Becca! :)
